What is the best oil for Toyota Corolla models?

When you are figuring out which oil is best for your car, Clermont auto service technicians recommend you check your owner’s manual and if you lost it, side eye,  you can always ask one of our auto service technicians. But, keep in mind what type of oil is going into your car. Here’s the simple breakdown:

Conventional oil has been around in the car care industry for a long time and it was even the main option for getting an oil change at one point. We’re going to break it down for you:

  • It is made from refined crude oil and flows more slowly than synthetic oil.

  • The only downside is that it doesn’t last as long as synthetic oil, so you’re going to have to get oil changes more frequently.

  • However, it’s cheaper than synthetic.

Synthetic oil is becoming more and more popular because it is more effective and drivers believe their car performs better with it. Here’s a quick guide:

  • It is chemically engineered to perform better than conventional oil under high heat, which makes it last longer.

  • It’s more effective by having the properties to combat buildup and control oil breakdown more efficiently.

  • The only downside is that it is more expensive than conventional oil.

The type of oil used in a Clermont Toyota Corolla oil changes depending on the model year. Toyota Corolla models 2009 or newer should use 0W-20 synthetic motor oil, and models made in 2008 or older should use 5W-30 synthetic motor oil. You can purchase Toyota-grade oil at our parts center.

When do you need oil changes for your Toyota Corolla?

Once you figure out which oil your Clermont Toyota needs, you’re going to want to know how often you need an oil change.

  • If you decide to go with synthetic oil, you will need an oil change every 5,000 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first.

  • If you decide to go with conventional oil, you’re going to need a Clermont oil change every 3,000 miles.

For whichever oil you decide to use, make sure you follow these guidelines and schedule a service appointment when needed.

What Toyota Corolla oil should you use if you have 100,000 miles?

Congratulations (but we’re not surprised) your Toyota Corolla hit the 100,000-mile mark! But, to make your car last even longer you’re going to need to invest in a high-mileage oil. But, what does high-mileage oil do? Here’s the breakdown:

  • It typically has a higher viscosity, which means it’ll flow more slowly through your engine.

  • It also has special additives and seal enhancers that can help protect against oil leaks in your engine.
