1. Tire inspection: You should always inspect your tires before driving in the snow. You'll want to ensure they're filled to the proper PSI and also have enough traction to handle slick surfaces (like snow and ice) before you leave. Additionally, if you're going to be driving in heavy snow, you may want to consider winter tires or tire traction devices. 2. Oil and antifreeze swap: The fluids that you normally use here in Central Florida - namely oil and antifreeze - may not cut it when you head north into winter weather. 3. Battery check: Winter weather can be hard on your car's battery so ensure it's in the best shape possible before you hit the road.
