Toyota of Clermont tips

Four tips to prevent pollen damage to your car

Tip #1: Get ready. First tip? Get ready for pollen season before it arrives. And it's simple to do so; all you have to do is wash your car and apply a coat or two of quality wax. (You don't have the break the bank - just choose a mid-grade quality wax. Our Clermont Toyota parts store can help you choose the right one.) The wax will serve as a barrier between your car's paint and the pollen, protecting it. If you leave pollen on your car for too long, it can actually oxidize the paint and cause staining, which means expensive car paint repairs. Head it off by putting wax on your Clermont Toyota before the pollen arrives.

Tip #2: Plan your parking. It's also a good idea to strategically park during pollen season. Now, don't get us wrong - it's always advisable to park in a garage or even just some sort of covered parking, as it offers your car a bit more protection. But this is especially true during pollen season. Any sort of cover can help cut down on the amount of pollen that lands on your ride. If nothing else, try not to park under trees.

Tip #3: Get on a car detailing schedule. You should also get yourself on a routine car detailing schedule (if you haven't already). You may want to wash your car more frequently during pollen season, or at least rinse it as often as you can to keep it clean(er). And make sure you're using the right products (i.e. not dish soap). The wrong products can strip the wax off your car and leave you in a worse position than before.

Tip #4: Get under the hood and in the interior. Don't forget about the interior of your Clermont Toyota and under the hood. Pollen will undoubtedly still make its way inside, so be sure to wipe and vacuum your ride on a routine basis. As for under the hood, be sure to clean and change the cabin and engine air filters as needed for the next performance and air quality.
