Five road hazards to be on the lookout for - back to school

The bell has rung and school is in session! With our little babies going back to school and teenagers heading to high school, there’s going to be more traffic on the road, school buses, school zones, pedestrians, and bicycles. There are going to be a lot more road hazards during your morning commute and a lot more headaches. Toyota of Clermont suggests blasting those tunes or a spooky podcast and drive into the chaos the week.

Road hazards to always be watchful for!

#1 Heavier traffic.

Summertime is over and the slower traffic is done with. There’s going to be a lot more traffic and road hazards on the road, and that can lead to more car accidents on the road as well. Luckily, our Clermont Toyota auto service technicians can fix your car up for you if you do happen to get into a car accident. At Toyota of Clermont, we recommend giving yourself some extra time and waking up earlier than you normally would so you don’t get stuck in stop-and-go traffic. We also suggest keeping both eyes on the road and hands on the wheel to avoid a trip to the Collision Center.

#2 School buses.

Not only do you need to dodge your typical cars in traffic, but you need to be careful of the school buses around you as well. Driving around school buses can be a tricky task. You need to make sure that you come to a complete stop if the little stop sign pops out of the side of the bus. If you don’t come to a complete stop you could get a ticket! If you’re texting and driving and accidentally slam into the car in front of you then you’ll need to visit the Clermont Toyota dealership for an auto repair ASAP!

#3 School zones.

Another road hazard that Toyota of Clermont suggests watching out for is school zones! The speed limit can dramatically drop and increase in a matter of a couple of hundred feet. Also, of course, watching out for children.

#4 Pedestrians

One road hazard that is overlooked is pedestrians! You should always make sure the crosswalk is free of people before pumping that gas pedal or making a right turn. Pedestrians can get distracted with their phones, so it’s best to stay vigilant.

#5 Bicycles.

Another road hazard to watch out for is bicycles. They share the same lane as us, and it’s best to give yourself some distance between yourself and the cyclist. If not, you could end up needing a Clermont Toyota auto repair!
