Auto Service for Your Aging Car

For many drivers out there, their car often bridges the line between machine and companion. We're not saying that a car can replace a puppy (unless you're crazy), but your car really does have your back and provides essential services for you. Driving you to and from wherever you need to go, being a second closet full of your backup outfits, transporting your friends for epic times, you get the idea. But, after all the adventuring and years and miles, your car is likely a little worse for wear and in dire need of some TLC.

Whether you're prepping it for a trade-in or simply want to give ol' reliable a facelift, Toyota of Clermont is here with some tips for what auto service you should do for your aging car.

Your Ride's Getting Old. Time for a Refresh

Your ride may be getting on in years, but that doesn't mean it has to look or feel that way. Here are a few auto service jobs you should do to get your ride as fresh as the day you first drove it home!

Time for a Mani Pedi

Obviously, you can't do a mani pedi on your car (it's already painted, duh). What we mean is to give everything under the hood and in the undercarriage a good revamp. For this Clermont auto service job you should look into flushing and changing all your fluids (coolant, wipers, brake, etc), getting an oil change (synthetic preferred), and getting the tires rotated. These are largely routine but absolutely essential if you're to keep your aging ride running like new.

Give it a Good Wash

A bath can do wonders and your Clermont Toyota car would agree. As part of your car's retirement era auto service regimen, give it a good wash inside and out. Scrub the paint with a good quality soap, apply a liberal layer of wax and vacuum the interior and give extra care for the crevices and hard to reach places. This will set you up for the next step.

Make Small Repairs Where You Can

This next part can get a bit tricky. Before making any repairs (especially if you don't plan on doing these yourself) you should first determine the resale value for your aging Clermont Toyota car. This will help you best decide which repairs to make based on cost versus value of your car. With that in mind, take not of little things that may be broken or in need of fixing. Loose plastic pieces in the interior, objects bent out of place on the exterior, and so on can all be repaired with little spending involved. If your budget allows you can also explore making repairs to blemishes in your vehicle's paint.

Add A Little Technological Flair

The latest tech is always nice to have in your ride because it makes your Clermont Toyota car more convenient and downright cool. Brainstorm ways to make your car's retirement auto service regimen fun by incorporating upgrades. Think of things like: attaching a wireless charger on your dash, getting a bluetooth receiver if your ride isn't compatible currently, put some organizing tools in the trunk and interior, or adding some cool accent pieces to the exterior. Let your imagination run wild, but remember to not overspend.

Pesky Stains Be Gone

Your Clermont Toyota car's interior has likely seen better days (like when you drank less coffee and spilled it). So, revive those days that have been long forgotten. When cleaning the interior during your auto service process, remember where the hard to get out stains are (pro tip, look up to the headliner too) and get to work on removing them. Start by lightly dry scrubbing to loosen up the stain, spray a cleaning solution (made of vinegar, water, and a dash of dish soap) onto a cloth (NOT onto the surface itself), and get to scrubbing. This should remove the stain from your seats, headliner, and carpet and leave your interior spotless.
